Simulation and prediction of residential grid-connected photovoltaic system performance

This paper presents the analysis of actual, predicted, and simulated technical performance a residential 2.835 kW<sub>p</sub> retrofitted grid-connected photovoltaic (GCPV) system under feed-in-tariff (FiT) scheme in Klang, Malaysia located equatorial region. The indices GCPV were assessed based on three-year energy production 2018, 2019 2020. actual predicted calculated using SEDA mathematical model, which solar irradiation data was acquired from PVsyst software. Meanwhile, obtained results showed that prediction model has higher percentage difference within range 12.54-13.29%, compared to simulation 7.93-11.93%. study highlighted factors contributed underprediction both simulation, are estimation losses annual accuracy. Lastly, FiT gross income for three consecutive years 3310.80 MYR 3357.30 MYR. result conveys an example Malaysian case study, enlighten public, economic aspect installing scheme.
